Surrounding Mesas

Numerous mesas surround Telluride, each with their own unique character.  Most are located within 30-45 minutes from Telluride.

Wilson Mesa

Located at the base of often-photographed Mount Wilson, Wilson Mesa is located approximately 30 minutes west of Telluride and is accessed via Fall Creek Road (County Road 57P) and (seasonally) Silver Pick Road (County Road 60M), both off Highway 145.  Wilson Mesa Ranch, Ptarmigan Ranch, Little Cone Ranches, Muddy Creek, and Elk Creek Reserve offer parcels ranging from 7-35+ acres, some with tremendous views.

Hastings Mesa

Hasting Mesa is located approximately 30 minutes west of Telluride and is accessed from the south via Country Road 58P off Highway 145 at Sawpit, from the west via County Road 56V off Highway 62 just north of Placerville, and from the north via County Road 58P just west of Dallas Divide.  Numerous subdivisions exist including Old Elam Ranch, Beaver Pond, Little Lake Ranches, Alder Canyon Ranches, Telluride Pines, Cradle Park, San Juan Vista, and Hastings Mesa Estates.  Some subdivisions are, by choice, “off the grid” utilizing solar power, and some have seasonal access only, requiring a snowmobile for winter access.  Hastings Mesa is a unique offering in our area for those who wish to get back to nature in a spectacular and secluded location.

Specie Mesa

Specie Mesa, located approximately 45 minutes from Telluride, is the western-most mesa in the Telluride region.  It is accessed via County Road M44 off Highway 145, just west of Placerville.   The Peninsula, Peninsula Park, Peninsula Pines, Specie Mesa Ranch, Top of the World and Specie Wilderness are just a few of the subdivisions that offer 35+ acres parcels with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and the ski area.

Iron Springs/ Horsefly Mesas

Iron Springs and Horsefly Mesas are located approximately 30-45 minutes north of Telluride and are accessed via County Roads X48 and 60X, both off Highway 62 between Placerville and Dallas Divide.  Numerous subdivisions including The Lakes/Bluffs, Brown Dog Ranch, McKenzie Springs Ranch, Panorama Acres, and San Juan Ranch offer large parcels with sweeping vistas of the surrounding mountains.
